In response to the resolution passed by the Gujarat Assembly against the BBC, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel stated that if the documentary is wrong, it should be challenged, but what will happen by passing a resolution.

In a statement, while talking with the media, CM Baghel on Saturday, 10 March, stated that, “If the documentary is wrong then it should be challenged and there ways to act upon. But you conducted raids against them and intimidated them which is not correct.”

He further added that, ” If the documentary is wrong then action needs to be taken, what will happen by passing a resolution,” before elaborating that if it is not wrong then “accept” it.

Notably, on March 10, Gujarat Assembly passed a resolution requesting the Centre to take strict action against the BBC for tarnishing the image of Prime Minister Modi with its documentary titled,”India: The Modi Question.” The documentary talks about the 2002 Godhra riots. Earlier, in February, Income Tax authorities conducted searches at the offices of the British broadcaster in New Delhi and Mumbai.
