The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant in connection with alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity during the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The ICC announced on Thursday, November 21, that it had found reasonable grounds to believe that both Netanyahu and Gallant bear criminal responsibility for war crimes committed during the Israel-Hamas War.

The charges against the two Israeli leaders include accusations of using starvation as a method of warfare, alongside crimes against humanity such as murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts. According to the ICC, Netanyahu and Gallant are alleged to have co-perpetrated these crimes with others involved in the conflict.

The arrest warrants further intensify international scrutiny of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, as the war continues to result in significant civilian casualties. The move also highlights the growing international pressure on Israel regarding its military strategy, especially its impact on Palestinian civilians. The Israeli government has not yet responded to the ICC’s decision, and it remains unclear whether Netanyahu and Gallant will face arrest.
