Pune Police Confiscated Luxury Car of Controversial Probationary IAS Officer Pooja Khedkar for Illegal Red Beacon Installation.

On Thursday, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) issued a notice to a local private company, the registered owner of the Audi car used by 34-year-old Khedkar during her assignment in the city. According to officials, Shivane village in Haveli taluka was listed as the registered user’s address.

Khedkar allegedly affixed a red beacon light on the Audi car and unauthorizedly had ‘Maharashtra Government’ written on it.

She allegedly exploited the disability and Other Backward Class (OBC) quotas to obtain a position in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Khedkar recently gained attention following controversy over her requests for amenities like a separate cabin and staff during her assignment in Pune.

“A notice was issued on Thursday against the unauthorised use of a beacon and name sign on the private sedan Khedkar had been using. The car now has been confiscated, its documents will be checked and we are probing the matter further,” a senior official stated.

The Audi car, registered at the Pune RTO on June 27, 2012, has accumulated 21 challans totaling Rs 27,000 in charges for alleged traffic violations in the past.

The fine has been paid, as per officials.

IAS mother was also landed up in a controversy recently. A video went viral in which she was seen threating farmers with a revolver in hand. FIR was filed on her mother as well as five other under sections 323, 504, and 506 of IPC, along with charges under the Arms Act.
