A major accident has been reported in Rajasthan on Thursday night where MiG-21 aircraft crashed in Barmer and 2 pilots have been martyred. It is being told that the accident was so strong that the debris of the MiG was scattered up to half a kilometer away. The incident is said to have happened around 9:10 pm.

“A twin-seater Mig-21 trainer aircraft of the IAF was airborne for a training sortie from Utralai air base in Rajasthan this evening. Around 9:10 pm, the aircraft met with an accident near Barmer. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries.” the IAF said.

Moreover, it has been reported that both the pilots aboard the MiG have been martyred. As soon as the information was received, the officers of the Air Force including the District Collector, SP left for the spot.

Later the IAF said, “IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families. A court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has spoken to Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhary to get the detailed information regarding this accident.

However, the reason for the crash of the aircraft is not yet known.
