The NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu won the presidential election and Vice President Opponent candidate Yashwant Sinha lost in this election by a huge margin on Thursday.
After his defeat, Yashwant Sinha said, “I join my fellow citizens in congratulating Smt Droupadi Murmu on her victory in the Presidential Election 2022. India hopes that as the 15th President of the Republic she functions as the Custodian of the Constitution without fear or favor.”
Sinha said I sincerely thank the leaders of the opposition political parties for choosing me as their consensus candidate in this election. I also thank all the members who voted for me.
Sinha further added, I fully accepted the proposal of the opposition parties to do your duty without expecting fruits, accepting the philosophy of Karma Yoga preached by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. I have done my duty honestly because of my love for my country. The issues I raised during my campaign are relevant.
However, on Thursday, Draupadi Murmu won the presidential election by 6, 76,803 votes and Sinha’s got 3, 80,177 votes.
