Actress Parineeti Chopra broke down in tears while hearing compliments on her portrayal of Amarjot in ‘Amar Singh Chamkila.’ The star wrote a sweet note to her followers in which she shared her emotions.

Parineeti posted stills from the sets to Instagram on Sunday along with a heartfelt message.

The message said “Curled up in my blanket. Overwhelmed with your words, calls, and movie reviews. (tears are not stopping)”PARINEETI IS BACK.” These words are ringing loud. Hadn’t thought of this. Yes I am back, and not going anywhere!#Chamkila.”

In an act of thanks, Parineeti performs the popular song “Pehle Lalkare Naal” from the movie.
As she shared the video, she wrote,”Amarjot ko itna pasand karne ke liye Shukriya #Chamkila.” Overwhelmed with all the love that’s been pouring in… thank you… #Grateful.”

Under the direction of Imtiaz Ali, ‘Amar Singh Chamkila‘ tells the untold true story of Punjab’s first mass-market rock star, who, at the age of 27, was assassinated after rising from the depths of poverty to the pinnacles of popularity in the 1980s owing to the sheer force of his music. Along the way, he enraged many people, which ultimately led to his downfall.

Diljit Dosanjh stars as ‘Chamkila,’ the legendary artist who emerged from poverty to become a chart-topping sensation in the 1980s with his impactful music. Parineeti takes on the role of Amar Singh Chamkila’s wife, Amarjot Kaur. Catch ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ now streaming on Netflix since April 12.
