Hyundai Motor India launched a brand new generation of its popular hatchback, the i20 in 2020. Three years on, the Korean carmaker has launched a facelift of the car that comes with some design changes as well as feature and tech upgrades. Along with it, a newer model of the sportier i20 N Line has also been launched and here too some important changes have been made.

Design
The updated Hyundai i20 gets new LED headlamps and LED DRLs, which look more appealing than before. The front and rear bumpers too are revamped, and are marked by sharp lines and improved aerodynamics. 16-inch alloy wheels and grille have also gone in for a subtle makeover, while a new Amazon Grey colour also gives the hatchback a fresh look. The new i20 N Line with its WRC inspired design also gets new LED headlamps with signature LED DRLs while the new 16-inch alloys get N Branding. Here, the Abyss Black is the new colour option.

Interior
Inside the new i20 gets dual-tone grey and black interiors while the N Line is offered with sporty black interiors with athletic red inserts. On both cars you get ambient lighting, a BOSE premium 7 speaker system and a new premium key along with more than 60 connected car features and 127 embedded voice commands. While the i20 gets semi-leatherette seats, leatherette door armrests and a leather wrapped D-Cut Steering wheel, the N Line gets seats with N logo and a 3 spoke leather wrapped steering wheel. Additionally, the cars also get 7 ambient sounds of nature and a C-type charger.

Engine
With the facelift, the i20 has bid adieu to the more powerful 1.0 turbo engine and now just comes with the 1.2 Kappa petrol motor with the option of Manual and CVT. The car now features the Idle Stop & Go tech which helps in boosting fuel efficiency. The i20 N Line continues to get the spirited Kappa 1.0L Turbo GDi petrol engine that makes 120 PS and 172 Nm. You have the option of choosing from an all-new 6 Speed Manual Transmission or a 7 Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) which is now available in both N6 and N8 trims.

Safety
The cars gets 26 Standard safety features including 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and three-point seatbelts with seatbelt reminders for all seats. Other features include emergency stop signal, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Automatic headlamps, while N Line also has disc brakes on all the wheels.
