The son of a pharmaceutical company owner was detained by police on Saturday for allegedly selling chocolate bars laced with hash oil. The man is a management student. The student, named Rishi Sanjay Mehta, 22, a native of Narsingi, had up to 48 chocolate bars and 40 grammes of hash oil taken from him.
Mehta used to accept orders for his drug-laced chocolates through his social media accounts and, after obtaining payment via online banking transactions, employed internet delivery aggregators for supply, according to a statement from the Hyderabad Police.
Investigators from the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and the Musheerabad Police apprehended the student. The tools needed to prepare the chocolates were seized from his house by the cops, along with Mehta’s cell phone.
According to the investigation, Mehta was addicted to hash oil and marijuana during his time in college. As he was unable to pay for his extravagant lifestyle, he started selling e-cigarettes and eventually turned to selling chocolates that had been laced with drugs.
