A true blue free-spirited soul, Promila Bahri defies all description. Ask her and she will call herself a ‘caring human’ first. A fashion entrepreneur whose label Lil Tomatoes kick-started the arrival of kid’s brands in India, she is also the brain behind a unique platform Bollygoods that promotes creativity amongst scions of filmi families. Daughter of one of old Delhi’s most respected industrialist families and married into the Bahri parivaar behind Jaipur Golden, Promila’s true inner calling has always been photography. Her life has circled around the lens many times, first working with Sharan Apparao of Apparao Galleries to create unique photography shows, then finding her own platform Gallery of Galleries, and now turning into a brilliant photographer herself.

The pandemic and the forced isolation re-kindled this love. All through the last 14 months, Promila, petite and fiercely pretty has been wearing her double mask and quietly capturing the world as it fancies her lens. She says, “I see life in the eyes of people, emotions light up their face. Each one of us has this deep inner light that I like to capture.” Getting set to launch her first virtual show, Promila hopes to have her works hang in homes, hotels, and hospitals. “Photography is a real art and must get the limelight back on it.”
