The Cast of Toy Story 5

Although official casting news is still not announced, Allen reported on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in November 2023 that Disney approached both him and Hanks about reprising their roles as voice actors for Buzz Lightyear and Woody.

This was some months after the film was originally announced. Concept art unveiled at D23 also hinted that fan favorites such as Jessie, Rex, Forky, and Hamm would be returning, although the actors playing these roles have not yet been officially announced.

What’s in Store?

The producer of the most recent instalment of Toy Story, Andrew Stanton, disclosed that the story of the film will significantly revolve around how technology influences children. At the D23, the idea that was presented to the audience indicated that all the toys are gloomy because their owner is occupied with a tablet. The toys will now embark on the emotional and comedic process of winning the child’s attention back to themselves from the screen devices.

In February 2023, Executive Producer Peter Docter informed The Wrap that the new installment will be “surprising.” He informed the news outlet, “It’s got some really cool stuff that you haven’t seen before.”

In a recent interview , Allen revealed that there will be a lot of emphasis on Jessie’s journey in teh latest instalment. He shared, “I can tell you that it’s a lot about Jessie. Tom [Hanks] and I do Woody and I do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyear. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”
