Sydney Sweeney is stepping into darker territory with her new Apple TV+ thriller Echo Valley, and she’s not holding back. Recently, the Euphoria star opened up about playing Claire, a troubled young woman, opposite Julianne Moore. The show revolves around a mother-daughter pair who go to extreme lengths to protect one another after Claire shows up covered in blood.

Talking about her process, Sydney admitted that she throws herself into the moment while filming intense scenes. “I, like, jump in and out,” she said. “It’s kind of psychotic. Like, you’re happy and fun, and then…” the interviewer chimed in, “And then they say, ‘Action!’ and I’m screaming and crying. And then they call, ‘Cut!’ and I go, ‘What’s wrong?’”
Sweeney revealed just how seriously she took her scenes with Moore. “I felt so bad,” she said. “I did. ’Cause I am. I’m vicious. I’m really vicious.” Despite the on-set intensity, she shared how much she respects and admires Moore. “She’s so kind and fun, and just amazing to work with.”

She also talked about Euphoria Season 3. A blurry photo of Sydney in a wedding dress recently leaked online, sparking rumours about a Cassie wedding. When asked if it was real, Sydney played coy. “I can’t confirm or deny,” she smiled. “Who knows, that could be AI.”
Although she didn’t confirm much, Sweeney teased what’s ahead for her iconic character. “Cassie is crazy,” she said with a grin. “She’s even worse. It’s the favourite version of her.” In another interview, she said the upcoming season is totally “unhinged” and that she asked the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, to take Cassie’s story even further. “Let’s go crazier,” she told him, and apparently, he was all in.
On the personal side, reports suggest Sydney recently ended her engagement with Jonathan Davino. The two had been engaged since 2022 but are said to have called it off earlier this year.
