Cannes Film Festival is more than red carpet and movie premieres. Each year, on the final days of the Cannes Film Festival, hundreds of celebs and philanthropists, including Hollywood icon Leonardo DiCaprio, descend upon the palatial Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc for the amfAR Gala. There, they gather to host and organize a fundraiser that raises millions for biomedical research and other worthy causes.

This year, a plethora of Hollywood celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeff Bezos, Adrien Brody, Heidi Klum, Colman Domingo, and Michelle Rodriguez were present for the auction.

According to a Variety report, this year’s Best Actor Oscar winner Adrien Brody made an argument for his mixed media work that he did of legendary star Marilyn Monroe. In his address, he continued, “Please, for a moment, I know it’s a big room.”. To live life to the fullest and to appreciate every moment and the flaws in life. Women are objectified too much in the media and social media. They need to be beautiful and they are beautiful, but what they have inside is what matters most here in this world. And I’d like to respect that.” The artwork was auctioned for $425,000. At the same time, actor James Franco also attended the gala and contributed a painting to the auction.
