Actor Jacob Elordi discussed his project ‘Wuthering Heights’ and revealed that he was going to quit acting until he received a message from the director. Filming for Wuthering Heights just concluded in the UK, and it’s Elordi’s second collaboration with director Emerald Fennell. Therefore, when casting for the project began, the actor was able to bypass the audition, according to a source.
What The Actor Said
“I was really lucky. I was going to take a break for a while, and then Emerald just very simply texted me, and you can’t run from that text,” Elordi said.
The movie features Margot Robbie alongside Elordi, and is a retelling of Emily Bronte’s novel of the same name, which traces the fiery relationship between Catherine Earnshaw (Robbie) and Heathcliff (Elordi) that’s intense and passionate after they meet at the titular house and how the relationship affects their families, according to the outlet.
Jacob Elordi On Working With Margot Robbie
The actor discussed his work experience with Margot. “She’s incredible in the film, she’s a livewire. I’m so, so excited for people to see it,” he said. “She’s a beautiful actor and she gave so, so much.”
Elordi has amassed quite the body of work recently, leading Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla,” Emerald Fennell’s “Saltburn,” Paul Schrader’s “Oh, Canada,” and upcoming “On Swift Horses.” Jacob Elordi will play the Monster in Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” this November, before starring with Margot Robbie in “Wuthering Heights,” set to release in 2026.
Wuthering Heights will be released by Warner Bros. in February next year. Robbie’s production outfit, LuckyChap Entertainment, is in charge of production, according to a source.
