Gigi Hadid turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala with a striking golden gown custom-made by Miu Miu. The 30-year-old model impressed onlookers with her glamorous outfit and vintage-inspired hairstyle, standing out among the many fashion icons at the event.

Hadid, who has attended the Met Gala every year since 2015, once again proved her strong presence on the red carpet. This time, she fully embraced the evening’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with a look that combined elegance, history, and personal flair.

A Decade of Met Gala Moments

Hadid’s debut on the Met steps was in 2015 when she wore a red Diane von Furstenberg gown. Since then, she has become known for her bold fashion choices, experimenting with everything from metallic styles to dazzling sequins.

However, her 2025 appearance marked a new high point in sophistication. Her golden gown not only highlighted her silhouette but also served as a tribute to Zelda Wynn Valdes—a trailblazing African American designer known for redefining the way women’s bodies were dressed and celebrated.

Paying Tribute to a Fashion Pioneer

According to People magazine, the gown was inspired by Valdes’ signature style. The outfit, which balanced classic tailoring and high glamour, was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who added thoughtful touches such as a Victory Roll hairstyle and silver accessories to complete the look.

Hadid explained the meaning behind her outfit, saying, “The dress is a celebration of Zelda,” and added, “This is a dress, maybe she would have designed for me, combining both tailoring and glamour.”

The Theme: Tailoring Black Style

This year’s Met Gala focused on the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The showcase explores the influence of dandyism and how tailored fashion has shaped Black cultural identity from the 1700s to modern times.

The dress code, “Tailored for You,” encouraged guests to be inventive with suits, tailoring, and personalized takes on structured fashion. Hadid’s look clearly reflected that spirit, blending old-Hollywood charm with a deep respect for Black designers’ influence in fashion history.
