A woman who used to work as Sean “Diddy” Combs’ personal assistant has shared a heartbreaking and disturbing testimony in his ongoing federal racketeering and sex trafficking case. She spoke during the trial in the Southern District of New York, using the name “Mia” to protect her identity.
On Thursday, Mia described her years working for Combs—from 2009 to 2017—as filled with emotional and physical abuse, exploitation, and repeated sexual assaults. Some of her claims matched the earlier statements made by celebrity stylist Deonte Nash and singer Cassie Ventura, Combs’ former girlfriend, who has also filed similar allegations in separate cases.
“It Went From Dream Job to a Nightmare”
Mia said she originally thought the job would be a good opportunity. However, she quickly realized it came with extreme demands and mistreatment. She claimed Combs made her work without rest, including one stretch where she was awake and working for five days straight.
He would often yell at her and insult her, calling her “incompetent” and treating her “like a worthless piece of crap,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Multiple Alleged Incidents of Sexual Assault
Mia testified about several incidents where she said Combs sexually assaulted her. One of the earliest happened during his 40th birthday celebration, where he allegedly forced her to drink vodka and then put his hand up her dress.
In another disturbing account, she said she woke up one night to find Combs on top of her in a bunk bed. Even though she told him “no,” she said the assault happened quickly.
Denied Privacy, Underpaid, and Exhausted
As a live-in assistant, Mia said she wasn’t allowed to lock her bedroom door, unlike the male security staff who were given that right. She remembered Combs telling her, “This is my house and no one locks the doors.”
Although she was promised a yearly salary of $55,000, she claimed she never earned more than $50,000 during her time with him.
She also spoke about how the stress and lack of sleep led to severe exhaustion. At one point, she experienced hearing loss, blurry vision, and a breakdown. Only after this episode, she said, was she finally allowed to rest.
Witnessed Violence Against Cassie Ventura
Mia supported earlier allegations about Combs’ violent behavior towards Cassie Ventura. She remembered one event where he allegedly threw Cassie into a bed frame, causing a deep cut on her forehead.
“It was so fast, but I felt like I was in slow motion,” Mia said. “She had a pretty big scar… blood was coming out.”
In another case, Mia said she and Cassie went to a party hosted by Prince in Beverly Hills. After finding out, Combs reportedly showed up and attacked Cassie in public. Prince’s security had to step in. Mia added that she was suspended without pay after that incident.
“I Have to Tell the Truth”
When asked why she agreed to testify even though it was painful to revisit the past, Mia said through tears, “Because I have to tell the truth, the whole truth.” During Thursday’s hearing, prosecutors hinted that they might wrap up their case earlier than planned. Meanwhile, Combs’ defense lawyers requested permission to meet with him until 10 p.m. each night to prepare. Currently, Combs remains in a detention facility in Brooklyn while the trial continues.
