Bella Hadid might have missed this year’s Met Gala, but she made a spectacular comeback to the Cannes Film Festival, serving up her classic show-stopping flair as ever. When the red carpet rolled out for the 78th edition on May 13, Bella’s arrival at the French Riviera was nothing less than legendary.
She showed up at the iconic Hotel Martinez wearing a stylish, all-white outfit with a belted corset and bootcut slacks. Her accessories were high-end but low-key: vintage Saint Laurent heart-heeled pumps and a tan Manhattan bag. Her new look: dirty, hot honey blonde hair pulled back into a sophisticated updo finished the look. Oversized dark sunglasses closed out her supermodel vibe.
Details of Bella’s Dress
Later during the night, Bella attended the opening ceremony of the festival in her official red carpet role. She wore a sultry all-black Yves Saint Laurent evening gown featuring an asymmetrical cowl neckline, a provocative hip-high slit, and minimal back straps. The look pushed the newly introduced Cannes dress code, but managed to remain just within limits.

To finish off the outfit, she wore slingback bedazzled stilettos with silver studs, chunky diamond bling rings, and showy emerald drop earrings. Her makeup was a reflection of the mood: matte, smokey eyes with kohl-lined precision.

Red carpet rules at Cannes were more stringent this year, with an official dress code warning being sent just a day before the opening of the festival. The following was stated, “For decency purposes, nudity is not allowed on the Red Carpet, nor in any other section of the Festival. Bulky clothing, especially those with a large train, that obstruct the free flow of traffic of visitors and make it difficult to seat in the theater are not allowed. The Festival greeting teams will be required to deny Red Carpet access to anyone who does not adhere to these regulations.”
The Cannes Film Festival of 2025 continues until May 24.
