A Hat-Tip to Creative Risks
The ‘Icarus’ line, named after the Greek mythological figure known for his daring flight, symbolises taking bold risks in haute couture. Daniel Roseberry, Schiaparelli’s creative director, had earlier explained that this line was born out of a “bit of time travel,” as he attempted to push creative boundaries.
Alia’s look, the Look 11 from the couture line, summed up this philosophy flawlessly. The shape, along with neutral colors and metallic glazes, gave a surreal yet elegant appeal to the red carpet.
“Alia let the chiselled gown speak for itself,” a fashion source observed. Her understated hairdo and minimal accessories gave way to the Schiaparelli work of art. Her makeup, while discreet, served to accentuate the dramatic beauty of the look.
