The British drama Adolescence is making huge waves on Netflix. It has become the platform’s second-most-watched English-language series of all time, beating Stranger Things Season 4. As of June 1, the limited series has gathered 141.2 million views in just 80 days since its release on March 13, as compared to Stranger Things 4, which earned 140.7 million views during its first 91 days back in 2022.
Critics And Audience Praise For Adolescence

Even though Adolescence has taken the No. 2 spot, Wednesday still holds the crown as Netflix’s top English-language series, with a record-breaking 252.1 million views in its first 91 days. However, across all languages, Squid Game is still Netflix’s overall most-watched show, with an incredible 265.2 million views for Season 1 and 192.6 million for Season 2.
Weekly Series’ Views Chart
On the most recent weekly chart (May 26 – June 1), the show Sirens led with 18.2 million views, climbing from 16.7 million the week before. Cold Case: The Tylenol Murders came in strong with 11.9 million views in just four days.
Other shows making an impact this week include the Dept. Q with 6 million views, American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden with 5.4 million, and Bet at 2.9 million. Meanwhile, The Four Seasons is proving to be a long-time favourite, staying on the charts for five weeks straight and landing at No. 7 with 2.4 million views.
Netflix has no shortage of hits right now, but Adolescence is the surprise standout that’s taken everyone by storm.
