In Chennai’s Ayanavaram on November 2, a history sheeter was fatally hacked by unidentified men with sickles. In order to identify the murderers and determine the motive for the crime, police officials are searching CCTV video.

Nagur Gani (33), the deceased, lived in Chennai’s Nadalkarai Collector Colony. He and Khadija have two children together. Near Ayanavaram Market, Nagur Gani operated the Garam Biriyani restaurant for the previous two years.

Nagur Gani was working in the shop as usual when five individuals riding three two-wheelers arrived, killed him with sickles, and then fled the scene. Nagur Gani’s multiple facial wounds caused him to pass away immediately.

The Arumbakkam police station was home to numerous assault and criminal cases against Nagur Gani.

Ayanavaram police responded quickly to the scene based on information about the occurrence, recovered Nagur Gani’s body, and transported it to Kilpauk Government Hospital for an autopsy.

Police are looking for CCTV footage from the area and trying to determine the murder’s motivation. They are looking into whether there was personal animosity involved in the murder.

Further investigations are underway.
