Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a public gathering at Keylong, on Sunday announced the opening of a new ITI at Karga, Health Sub Centres at Gumrang, and a primary school at Rarik. He also announced an additional budget of Rs. 30 lakh for Shishur Gompa.

Besides, he announced Rs. 30 lakh for the reconstruction of the damaged overhead welcome gate at Keylong.

Chief Minister said that the State Government is committed to ensuring the overall development of the tribal areas.

He said that several schemes have been launched for the development of these areas. He said that some specialist doctors from a regional hospital at Kullu will be deployed to regional hospital Keylong for two days a week.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 11 developmental projects worth Rs. 41 crore in the Keylong area in Lahaul Spiti district.

Jai Ram Thakur also inaugurated Yoche-Boltozing Road, a project that was carried out by spending an amount of Rs. 1.34 crore. He initiated the work of several other projects which include, Shopping Complex and Parking at Keylong, augmentation work of Drinking Water Supply Scheme Keylong, Fire Hydrant, Flow, Flood Protection Work at Jispa, Flood Protection Work for Goshal, and Irrigation Schemes for Kardang, Kawaring, Tozing, Bargul, and Rogling.

He said that Atal Tunnel has opened new avenues to the farmers, youth, and general public of the valley. And before signing off, the minister also briefed the public about various developmental demands of the area.
