The Association of Radiation Therapists at PGIMER has said that the cadre review process for technical employees remains incomplete and has sought clarity on promotions, seniority and cadre strength affecting radiotherapy personnel.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the association welcomed the institute administration’s efforts to address long-pending cadre restructuring and promotion-related issues concerning technical employees. However, it maintained that several key concerns of the Radiotherapy Technical Cadre are yet to be resolved.
The association said that while certain orders have been issued under the Second Cadre Review of the Laboratory, Radiology and Radiotherapy Technical Cadres, affected employees have not yet received the corresponding financial benefits and arrears arising from the restructuring exercise.
According to the association, issues related to seniority determination, sanctioned strength of posts, promotional hierarchy and cadre structure continue to require clarification. It also pointed out that several employee representations submitted during different stages of the review process are still pending.
The association urged the competent authorities to dispose of all pending representations through speaking orders and place the relevant decisions on record to ensure transparency and consistency in the cadre restructuring exercise.
It further sought clarity regarding the final seniority position and post-wise sanctioned strength within the Radiotherapy Technical Cadre, stating that these matters have a direct bearing on future promotional opportunities and career progression.
While acknowledging the positive steps taken by the PGIMER administration, the association said the cadre review process could not yet be considered fully complete from the perspective of affected employees. It expressed hope that the remaining issues would be addressed expeditiously through constructive dialogue, ensuring a transparent and equitable career progression framework for radiotherapy technical personnel.
The statement was issued by Ambuj Kumar Sharma, Vice President of the Association of Radiation Therapists, PGIMER.
