Commencing this Friday, the fifth edition of the film festival is not only set to showcase 43 films but will also illuminate the remarkable journeys of Indian cinema gems who struggled to establish themselves from Haryana.

Dedicated theaters named after legendary figures – late Sunil Dutt, Satyen Kappu, and Satish Kaushik – have been prepared for the event. Furthermore, 24 life-size portraits of Haryana-born film personalities will adorn the venue, serving as a poignant reminder of their contributions to the industry.

Haryana, recognised not just for its agricultural prowess but also as a breeding ground for cinematic talents, boasts a unique style of hospitality. The organizers of the first All India Film Festival in Panchkula have left no stone unturned in preparations to warmly welcome these cinematic contributors over the three-day event.

Khwaja Ahmed Abbas, a native of Panipat, Haryana, played a pivotal role in launching the career of the iconic Amitabh Bachchan, hailing from the same state. Haryana has not only contributed to Bollywood but also left its mark in regional cinema, including Punjabi, Haryanvi, and Bengali film industries. The upcoming film festival, scheduled from February 23rd to 25th at the Red Bishop Complex of Haryana Tourism Department, is expected to host prominent figures from Indian cinema. The organisers believe that Haryana, known for its soldiers, farmers, and wrestlers, is also a reservoir of immense talent.

From the legendary Satyen Kappu, a resident of Panipat known for his roles in Sholay and Namak Halal, to the versatile Rammohan Sharma, originally from Jagadhri, Haryana has produced numerous talents who have left an indelible mark on the industry.
