Anmol, a 1,500 kg buffalo from Haryana, has gained nationwide attention at agricultural fairs like the Pushkar Mela and the All-India Farmers’ Fair in Meerut. Valued at Rs. 23 crore, Anmol is renowned not only for its impressive size and pedigree but also for its breeding potential, making it a social media sensation.

To maintain Anmol’s health and strength, its owner, Gill, spends Rs. 1,500 daily on a specialized diet. This includes almonds, bananas, pomegranates, milk, eggs, oil cake, green fodder, ghee, soybeans, and corn. The buffalo is also groomed twice daily and receives a special mixture of almond and mustard oil to ensure its coat remains glossy.

Despite the cost, Gill remains committed to Anmol’s care, even selling the buffalo’s mother and sister to cover expenses. Anmol’s breeding value lies in its semen, collected twice a week, and sold to breeders for Rs. 250 per extraction. The sales generate a steady ₹4-5 lakh monthly, assisting Gill in managing Anmol’s upkeep.

Although several lucrative offers have come in for Anmol at Rs. 23 crore, Gill considers the buffalo a family member and has no intention of selling.
