HARYANA WITNESSES AROUND 1,800 FRESH COVID-19 CASES IN TEN DAYS, OFFICIALS ON ALERT

Third wave of the pandemic is still going on across the country adding to the woes of the health department as well as the state government. The fatal virus has struck back in Haryana as new cases of the disease continue to arise in two districts namely Faridabad and Gurugram falling in the national capital region which is a matter of serious concern for the government as well as the health department.

The statistics of the last 10 days made available to the government revealed that nearly 1800 new cases were reported in several districts, particularly in Gurugram and Faridabad which clearly indicates the following scenario and worsen things. Gurugram emergency on the top in terms of new cases as out of the total cases 1771 reported in the last 10 days, 1281 i.e. more than two third of were surfaced in the district solely which indicates enough about the ongoing scenario. Besides, as many as 210 fresh cases were reported in adjoining Faridabad district.

The state government along with the health department has come up in action mode in a bid to control the disease. Following new development the state government has made it mandatory to use face masks in four districts namely Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar. Any person who does not wear a mask or found breaching the norms will be subject to stern action and will be fined.

Home Minister Anil Vij, who also holds the portfolio of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, said that in view of the increasing cases of Covid, face masks have been made mandatory in four districts of Haryana adjoining NCR namely Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar. He said that most of the new cases are from Faridabad, rest more than half of the districts in Haryana have reported zero cases of Covid-19. Further he said, as a precaution, new norms and rules will be applicable to districts of Haryana presently adjacent to Delhi.

A team of senior health experts was sent to Gurugram to study the increasing cases of Covid-19, why the cases are increasing in Gurugram and the report of this study is yet to come. The health experts will find out from which areas of Gurugram the cases of the virus are coming and from which settlements different teams have been formed. Apart from this, samples have been sent to Rohtak to know the variant of the virus, according to which further preparations will be made. One senior official of the health department divulged the information saying that the staff is ready, “our equipment, beds and oxygen are adequate.”

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19, face masks have been made mandatory in four districts of Haryana adjoining NCR, namely Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar.
