The Animal Husbandry department in Haryana continues to come up with new initiatives to benefit the department as well as those involved in the occupation of animal husbandry. In this series, the department gives a nod to a scheme under which the data about breeding and vaccination of animals will be uploaded on an application namely Information Network For Animal Health and Productivity (INAPH) by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). It is pertinent to mention that as many as 7 modules of animals do exist regarding the animals and intianally two of the aforesaid modules will be covered under new initiative which is most likely to benefit the department going through the shortage of the staff. Uploading the date on the application will get the updated online date to the staff members at the office at just one click without visiting the owner’s animal at their home. Further, the new step will require the staff members not to make field visits to get information regarding the vaccination and breeding of the animals. While rest 5 modules including the death data, health issues, and immunization will be taken into consideration after the initial feedback surfaces.

It is worth mentioning that the government has sanctioned that budget for the scheme so that the timely purchase of laptops along with other equipment can be made. One of the officials said that a budget of around Rs 6 crore has been approved for the purchase of the same.

While reacting to the new initiative, JP Dalal, the Agriculture Minister of the state praised this saying that this step will likely bring new heights to the department. The fresh data of the vaccination and breeding of the animals will be just one click away in the office for the officials which are likely to save their time along with their energy. Further, he said that before this, the state government had given nod to the purchase of 70 mobile medical ambulances to ensure the timely treatment of the animals in case of emergency

It is pertinent to mention that the livestock census of Haryana was released and according to this, the number of livestock in the state is around 70 lakh. Out of this, the count of buffalo is around 43.5 lakh to be followed by 19.4 lakh cattle.
