Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that the state government has prepared 20-bed wards in all medical colleges in the state where specialists will treat patients suffering from black fungus.

Vij said that all the District Medical Officers of the state have been directed to refer black fungus patients to their nearby medical college immediately for treatment.

So far, 115 cases of black fungus have been reported in the state.

The Haryana Government has reported having adequate medicines for treatment. The Central Government is also importing injections, out of which Haryana will get a share.

The state health minister also said that strict action will be taken against private hospitals charging more than the prescribed rates in Haryana after some cases from Panchkula came to his notice.

Vij also commended small shopkeepers, traders and daily labourers, who are facing difficulties due to the lockdown in the state, but whose support has led to a decrease in Covid-19 cases in the state.

On the day the lockdown was announced, Haryana had reported 16,000 cases. The number has come down to 7,500 now, informed Vij, as he appealed to people to extend their cooperation.
