Expressing concern over the large number of deaths due to road accidents, The Haryana government has prepared the ‘Haryana State Road Safety’ plan, which aims to reduce the road accident mortality and injury rate by 50% by the year 2025.
Haryana Chief Secretary Keshni Anand Arora has directed the officers to purchase ambulances for trauma care centres located on the state and national highways in order to ensure that the lives of accident victims can be saved by bringing them timely to these trauma care centres.
This will not only help in reducing the death rate caused due to road accidents, but will also save injured persons by providing them immediate first aid, said the Chief Secretary.
Arora directed the officers that after inspecting all the roads in the state, CCTV cameras should be installed at accident-prone areas and road junctions to find real cause for accidents.
She further directed to remove the hoardings along the roadsides so that accidents do not take place due to the attention of the drivers getting diverted.
