Addition of fresh 3 cases of fatal corona took Haryana’s final tally to around 10 patients after the disease hit back. Although no fatalities are reported so far in the state which is relieving. According to the official made available by the officials cumulative number of patients in Haryana so far is 1078985 after the deadly corona came into existence in the state. After the arrival of a fresh wave of Corona in many states including Kerala and Karnataka, as many as 6 fresh cases were confirmed in Haryana till Sunday while the sample collections of around 100 suspected patients reported with the symptoms of the disease, were made and sent for further process. In light of fresh cases of the disease after a long time, the health department is on toes ensuring the proper health arrangements.

An official said that the department is keeping a close eye on the patients with mild symptoms of corona along with sore throat and cough and isolation. In light of the fresh cases being reported in Haryana, a meeting of the senior health official was held here on Tuesday at the state headquarter to ensure the necessary arrangement being made in the health institutions across the state. It is a noticeable fact that during the first corona wave, the infection spread from Gurugram on a large scale among travelers coming from abroad. In view of the fresh cases, the government has issued instructions making the RTPCR test mandatory for patients suffering from influenza-like disease, ILI and severe acute respiratory infection (SARI).It is worth mentioning that the total number of active cases of the disease in the country stood at more than 4 thousand cases with Kerala emerging as the largest contributor.

Divulging more details, Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Anil Vij said that the necessity for mandatory RT-PCR tests for ILI and SARI cases, proposing that COVID-19 should be declared a notifiable disease. This would require private hospitals to inform the Chief Medical Officer and government hospitals of any cases. It is pertinent to mention that Vij had participated in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday. Regarding measures in response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and the detection of the JN.1 variant.

He highlighted the importance of monitoring and reporting diseases like influenza (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) to identify the initial trend of rising cases. Pertaining to the preventive measure and the necessary arrangements to be taken, Anil Vij said that a mock drill has already been conducted in Haryana, along with the completion of all necessary preparations. As the disease is resurfacing similarly before, the state has come up with all arrangements in the health institutions issuing necessary directions and Haryana has 238 PSA plants in working condition. Further he said that the department successfully tackled this disease before and is fully prepared.
