This time there has been a record collection in excise and GST and all previous records will be broken by the end of the financial year which will establish a new benchmark for Haryana. There has been an increase of about 23 per cent in excise and GST collection so far as compared to last year. Flow-meters will be installed in all the distilleries of Haryana by February 28, 2023.
Orders have been given to install POS machines (Point of Sales) at all liquor shops in the state by December 31, 2022. Besides, CCTV cameras have been installed in all the distilleries plants. All such units are being monitored through CCTV cameras by setting up a control room at the headquarters. uring the excise year 2019-20 Rs 6,361 crore excise-revenue has been received, while in the year 2020-21 Rs. 6,790 crore and in the year 2021-22, Rs 7,936 crore was recovered while this years just in the beginning Rs. 5,736 crore has been collected, due to which it is expected to touch the benchmark of Rs. 9500 crore in the current excise year which will be great achievement for Haryana. We are marching towards setting a new record whereas this year the Government has set the target of recovering Rs. 8,900 crore.
While interacting with the media persons, the Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala shared aforesaid information stating that the Haryana government has taken several historic steps in its excise policy which have yielded outstanding results. Under this, it was decided to install POS machines at all liquor shops in the state by December 31, 2022. So far, POS systems have been installed at 55 percent of shops in the state. He said that if these machines are not installed within the stipulated time, those shop owners will face a heavy penalty. Haryana is the first state in the country where directions have been given to install POS machines at liquor shops.
He further said that if a comparative study is done on the basis of consumption and production states, Haryana has become the number one state in the country in terms of collecting GST revenue. Dushyant Chautala said that our state has smoothly shifted from module-one to module-two in the matter of GST last year, for which the officers have done commendable work and it has also yielded positive results. It is stated that last year till November 14, 2021, Rs. 14,302 crore GST was collected.
