In wake of the continuous incidents of encroachments, several state governments and concerned authorities in the neighbouring states namely Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have launched campaigns against encroachment in many areas. In this series, it came to the fore that the state government also has come up with a strategy to tighten the noose. According to the data, as many as 350 cases of encroachments and illegal constructions have surfaced so far in the state which is a matter of serious concern.

There are many more incidents of finding the difference between the official data of lands fixed for the ponds. The data of the Haryana Pond authority and Revenue Department revealed differences between the maps as well records of the lands for ponds across the state which requires the cross-check of the data and inquiry into the matter is on. Continuous demand for the removal of encroachment done by violators continues to surface from time to time.

While reacting to the issue of encroachment on the lands of the ponds, the Development and Panchayat Minister Devendra Singh Babli said that the department will bulldoze the illegal constructions and encroachments, be it a matter of partial or full encroachment on the land of ponds. The department is putting its best for the renovation of ponds along with the conservation of water bodies across the state. So it’s clearly evident from the statement of the concerned minister that temporary as well as permanent illegal constructions will be removed from the land of ponds as well as water bodies.

There are a lot of incidents pertaining to permanent as well as temporary encroachment on the lands of ponds in the state. Temporary encroachments include the use of ponds’ land being temporarily for any kind of purpose while permanent encroachment stands for the illegal construction of any house or building on the land of pounds which requires the department to remove it.
