Haryana has become one of the three states in NITI Aayog’s India Innovation Index 2021, developed on the lines of the Global Innovation Index. Haryana has climbed three places, paving its way among the top states, as earlier it occupied the 6th position. Karnataka and Telangana also succeeded in making a space for themselves among 17 major states.

It is pertinent to mention that Karnataka has topped the list again in the ‘Major State’ category, followed by Telangana and Haryana, while Manipur has emerged on top in the ‘North East and Hill states’ category. In continuation of this, Chandigarh is the top performer in the ‘Union Territories and City States’ category.

Pertaining to this, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the Haryana government is creating a conducive environment to encourage innovation. To ensure overall development in the state, the state government has taken several new initiatives in every field. The government has done the work of promoting innovation in the fields of agriculture and industry. Further, he said that the state government is committed to encouraging public welfare schemes and innovation. He also congratulated the people of the state, saying that the Haryana government is leaving no stone unturned to promote sustainable development. He added that Haryana was ranked sixth in the index released in January 2021, but this time Haryana has climbed three places to join the top states.
