Haryana’s Excise Taxation Department initiated a One Time Settlement Scheme. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala introduced the scheme. Under it, for disputed tax amounts of Rs 50 lakh or less, 30% must be paid; for amounts exceeding Rs 50 lakh, 50% is required. The Chief Minister highlighted the Dispute Resolution Scheme’s launch, aiming for collaboration, mentioning over a dozen ongoing initiatives.
CM said that Haryana is at the forefront among big states in the entire country in per capita tax collection. Today, schemes have been launched to solve 7 different types of tax problems. CM said that no penalty or interest will be levied on undisputed tax for which no appeal has been made. Along with this, if the amount is less than Rs 50 lakh, 40% will have to be paid and if the amount is more than Rs 50 lakh, 60% will have to be paid. 30 percent of the total amount will have to be paid in the differential tax category. Payment amount up to Rs 10 lakh will have to be given in one installment. Two slabs of 50-50 percent have been created for payment amounts up to Rs 25 lakh.
Apart from this, if the amount is more than Rs 25 lakh, three more slabs of 40-30-30 will be made. Even before this, the Haryana government has compensated the losses of the traders within 2 months. Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said that in less than a year, two demands were placed in this hall, one for a bench of the GST Tribunal and the other for the solution of VAT related problems. Today both these demands have been fulfilled. The benches of Gurugram and Hisar have received approval from the GST Council. Deputy CM said that through One Time Settlement Scheme, chat bots and booths can also be created for information and problems. The 13 percent increase in tax collection is due to the cooperation of the people.
The Deputy CM announced Haryana’s tax collection goal of Rs 66,000 crore. The state pioneers initiatives like “Mera Bill Mera Adhikar” and proposed a lucky draw provision in collaboration with the GST Council. This suggestion, now a pilot project in 5 states, reflects Haryana’s forward trajectory. The government is committed to sustained progress in the future.
