HARYANA GETS STERN ON JBT TEACHERS FOUND WITH DOUBTFUL PHYSICAL VERIFICATION

As many as 756 JBT teachers were appointed in recruitment conducted nearly a decade ago in Haryana which is again in the talks these days, as after having found the credentials of several teachers doubtful, the education department has directed the concerned District Elementary Educations Officials (DEEO) to lodge an FIR against these teachers. A total of 60 teachers’ physical verification records have been found suspectful which constitutes more than 7% of the whole. Out of this, nearly one fourth are female teachers.

The process of physical verification was initiated following the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High court. According to the reports of the concerned committee, the thumb impressions of the above-mentioned teachers were not up to the mark which led to the issuance of orders pertaining to filing FIR.

Regarding this, Dhanpat Ram, DEEO of the Hisar said that he has received directions from the education department to file FIR against the teachers with doubtful credentials. The concerned officials would be given the findings of the report by the headquarter soon.

A letter issued by the education department directing DEEO’s and stating that the physical verification report of 756 JBT teachers has been received from the committee. As per the committee report HTET’s/STET’s, eligibility tests of 60 teachers are found doubtful. You are, therefore directed that a criminal case be registered against the teacher concerned with your district. Besides, the rest information and record will be handed over to the concerned officials with the district of DEEO’s, who will be deputed by the DEEO concerned by 3 September.

Out of the 60 teachers, a maximum of 11 teachers was appointed in Mewat districts followed by Ambala with seven teachers. Prior to this, the education department had issued orders to DEO’s to inquire about the documents of the math teachers appointed about two decades ago.
