Cold wave will continue in Haryana for seven more days. The minimum night temperature is expected to remain between 6 to 7 degrees Celsius till January 5. The maximum temperature is also expected to be between 17 to 19 degrees. This is considered a situation of cold day and cold wave. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of fog in 42 cities of the state. Apart from this, there are some cities which have been put on yellow alert.
Due to the effect of western disturbance, there will be clouds in the morning. During the afternoon, due to the hide and seek of clouds, the sun will be seen intermittently. The cities of Haryana where Orange and Yellow alert have been issued include Hisar, Adampur, Narnaund, Nathusari Chopta, Ellenabad, Fatehabad, Rania, Sonipat, Gannaur, Samalkha, Bapauli, Gharaunda, Karnal, Indri, Radaur, Gohana, Julana, Many in Israna, Safidon, Jind, Panipat, Assandh, Kaithal, Nilokheri, Narwana, Sirsa, Tohana, Kalayat, Ratia, Dabwali, Thanesar, Guhla, Pehowa, Shahabad, Ambala, Kalka, Barada, Jagadhri, Chhachhrauli, Narayangarh, Panchkula, There is a possibility of dense fog.
Whereas Gurugram, Bhadra, Loharu, Charkhi Dadar, Bhiwani, Tosham, Matanhail, Jhajjar, Bahadrugarh, Berikhas, Sampla, Rohtak, Siwani, Bawani Khera, Hansi, Hisar, Adampur, Narnaund, Kharkhoda, Sonipat, Gannaur, Samalkha, Meham, Gohana. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of dense fog in Julana, Jind, Kalka.
In view of the cold wave and cold day conditions, the Meteorological Department issued fog alert thrice in 10 hours. The first alert was issued at 9.17 pm, the second alert at 11.34 and the third alert at 2.53. In these alerts, the Meteorological Department issued an alert regarding dense to dense fog. The Meteorological Department appealed to the people to come out of the house only if necessary. The department has asked the elderly and children to take more precautions.
The Meteorological Department released cold weather guidelines, advising regular skin moisturization, intake of vitamin C from fruits and vegetables, minimizing unnecessary outings, keeping the body dry, halting heat loss causes, wearing waterproof footwear, gently warming cold body parts, and ensuring ventilation while using heaters to prevent catching a cold.
