After converting from the spot against Italy on Thursday, Harry Kane, one of the most productive strikers in English football history, became the top goal scorer in UK history with 54 goals.

His teammates, as well as former English players and legends, came forward to congratulate the English captain after pulling off this amazing feat. 53 goals were scored by Rooney during his 13-year career as a national team player.

On Twitter, the former English captain left the 29-year-old striker a special message.”Congratulations to Harry Kane on becoming England’s all-time leading goalscorer. I knew it wouldn’t take long but that was quick. Great man, an unbelievable goalscorer and an England legend. Congrats Harry.”

Harry Maguire, the current captain of Manchester United, joined Rooney in congratulating Kane on his most recent goal total. First and foremost, Harry is a fantastic leader and person, he said.
