In a shocking incident, an elderly woman and her daughter were discovered dead inside their apartment in the Garden Homes complex of Gwalior district, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday. The police received information about the incident and promptly arrived at the scene to investigate.
Identification of the Deceased
The deceased have been identified as Indu Puri, aged 81, and her daughter Reena Bhalla, aged 56. Their bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been called to the apartment for further examination. Superintendent of Police (SP) Dharmvir Singh provided details about the investigation, stating, “We received information in the morning that an elderly woman and her 56-year-old daughter were found dead in an apartment in the Garden Homes residential complex, which is a gated community.”
Initial findings reveal no signs of forced entry into the apartment. The SP mentioned that the police and the FSL team are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
“The actual cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report, and we are investigating the matter from various angles,” Singh added. He emphasized the secure nature of the residential complex, noting that it is monitored by security guards and that nearby residents and domestic staff are being questioned as part of the investigation.
The investigation is still in progress, with authorities seeking to gather more information to piece together the events leading to the tragic deaths of Indu Puri and Reena Bhalla.
