GURGAON: A 30-year-old Russian man was apprehended in Badshapur on Thursday for reportedly selling drugs, including LSD and charas (concentrated cannabis). He appeared in court on Friday and is currently in police custody. When stopped by officers near Golf Course Extension road, Mikhailuk failed to provide his passport or any form of identification. The crime branch seized 0.25 grams of LSD and 250 grams of charas from him, valued at Rs 2 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the Sector 39 crime branch unit set up a trap to apprehend the accused on Thursday night. During interrogation, it was disclosed that the accused arrived in India six years ago on a tourist visa and remained unlawfully after its expiration.

“Mikhailuk has been living across villages in Himachal Pradesh like Kasol, Tosh, and Malana. He would transport drugs to Gurgaon from Himachal Pradesh and sell them to random customers who visit roadside food stalls at night,” said Gurgaon police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar.

Mikhailuk was placed under a six-day police remand and presented in court on Friday.

“We are trying to recover his passport and find out details about the narcotics network he has been involved in,” Kumar added.

A case under the NDPS Act was filed against him at Sadar PS in Gurgaon.
