The 17th season of the IPL is scheduled to kick off on March 22, featuring defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) facing off against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a South Indian derby at their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

As of now, the schedule until April 7 has been disclosed, with the remainder to be announced later due to the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls scheduled to commence from April 19.

On March 24, last year’s runners-up Gujarat Titans and five-time champions Mumbai Indians are set to engage in an eagerly anticipated encounter in Ahmedabad. The fixture has garnered significant attention due to star all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s return to his former franchise MI after two successful seasons with GT. Pandya notably led GT to victory as captain during their debut season in 2022. This time, Pandya will be leading MI, taking over from Rohit Sharma, while Shubman Gill has assumed the captaincy of GT. On the same day, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants will commence their campaign in Jaipur.

Delhi Capitals are scheduled to play their home matches at Vizag on March 31 and April 3 against CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi will not be available to host these matches due to its prior commitment of hosting the Women’s Premier League final on March 17.

The first-ever double-header on March 23 will witness Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals kick-starting their campaign against each other at Mohali, while two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders will commence their campaign in Kolkata.
