GUJARAT SCHOOLS, COLLEGES TO START FROM 11 JANUARY

Parents not ready to send their children to schools until the vaccine arrives.

The decision to reopen classes 10 and 12 standard schools from 11 January was taken at a cabinet meeting, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama announced on Wednesday. The state government has started preparations to reopen schools as per the corona guidelines of the Central government. It has been decided to reopen classes 10 and 12, PG and last year college classes.

Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the educational work of classes 10 and 12 and the last year of graduation and post-graduation will be started in the state from 11 January 2021. The decision was taken by the state government after a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel.

The Education Minister added that the decision would be applicable to all the boards in the state, including government schools, grant-in-aid-self-help organisations and institutions under the Department of Social Justice Empowerment. Schools and colleges will have to strictly adhere to the SoP announced by the Central government.

To make arrangements for prevention of transmission of Covid-19 in school, including hygiene, the administrators will have to make arrangements in the school in coordination with the authorities. For this, the principals and teachers at the local level have to coordinate with the primary and community health centres. Students’ attendance at school will not be mandatory.

Students coming to the school will have to give their approval in the form with the consent of their parents. Necessary forms for this have been sent to the schools, said the Education Minister. In addition, the online education system currently in place in the state will continue as usual. Students will not be given mass promotion.
