Gujarat Police, DRI raid drug factory, seize Rs 150 cr worth of narcotics

In a collaborative effort, the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) from Ahmedabad successfully uncovered a drug manufacturing facility located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, resulting in the seizure of narcotics valued at nearly Rs 150 crore.
Sources indicate that the DRI conducted the raid based on intelligence provided by the DCB, revealing large-scale production of drugs, including ketamine and cocaine. While officials from both the DRI and DCB have not disclosed specific details, it has been reported that at least two individuals have been taken into custody.
Sources familiar with the operation have disclosed that, in addition to the confiscated narcotic substances, the joint team also seized raw materials used in drug production and equipment valued at over Rs 350 crore. These materials were allegedly utilized for the manufacturing of banned substances that were distributed to various states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, among others. The DCB initiated the intelligence gathering process following a drug seizure that occurred a couple of months ago.
