Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, while campaigning for the local body elections in Vadodara on Sunday, collapsed on stage after feeling dizzy due to low blood pressure. He was flown to Ahmedabad for treatment.

Rupani has been the Chief Minister of Gujarat since August 2016.

Top sources told The Sunday Guardian that CM Rupani’s health is now stable after being attended by a doctor.

He will undergo a medical examination at UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad wherein a team of doctors have been deployed.

During his speech in Vadodara, Rupani said his government will bring a law prohibiting forced religious conversions in the state of Gujarat. “Our BJP government will bring ‘love jihad’ Act in the Assembly so that such activities are not tolerated in future,” CM Rupani was quoted as saying.

The CM also said in his speech, “The Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre has kept all its promises. We are moving beyond the pinnacle of development in Gujarat. This election is important to enhance the reputation of Gujarat.”

After Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat plans to bring a law on love jihad.
