Tension gripped Bareilly earlier this week when unidentified men opened fire outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence. The incident created panic in the area and sparked a high-level police operation. Investigations later revealed that four shooters were behind the attack, all of them reportedly linked to the notorious Goldy Brar gang known for extortion and targeted killings.

On September 10, the four shooters arrived in Bareilly, checking into two different hotels. The next evening, Nakul and Vijay Tomar fired a single round at the actress’s house but fled in haste. Since the gunshot caused no major damage, the incident went largely unnoticed at that time.

However, on September 12, Haryana-based shooters Ravindra alias Kallu and Arun returned and opened multiple rounds of fire, causing panic in the neighborhood. Nakul and Vijay stayed nearby, providing backup. After the attack, all four fled the city on two motorcycles, carefully avoiding crowded areas and escaping through village routes toward Rampur.

Police Hunt and Encounter in Ghaziabad

The breakthrough came on September 17, when a joint team of the UP Special Task Force (STF), Delhi Police Crime Branch, and Haryana Police tracked down the suspects in Ghaziabad. Acting on a tip-off, the team intercepted Ravindra and Arun. When asked to surrender, the two opened fire, forcing police to retaliate. Both shooters were killed in the encounter.

Ravindra, also known as Kallu, was a resident of Rohtak, while Arun hailed from Sonipat. From the site of the encounter, police recovered pistols, live cartridges, and mobile phones, confirming that the weapons matched those used in the Bareilly attack.

Hunt Continues for Two Fugitives

The other two shooters, Nakul and Vijay Tomar of Baghpat, remain on the run. Bareilly Police have announced a cash reward of ₹1 lakh each for their capture. Raids are ongoing across multiple districts, and authorities claim they will soon be arrested.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the attack outside Disha Patani’s house was part of a larger extortion plan made by the Goldy Brar network. The gang has been attempting to expand its influence in western Uttar Pradesh by targeting high-profile individuals and creating fear.

Security Stepped Up

Following the attack, security around Disha Patani’s Bareilly home has been tightened. More police deployment and CCTV surveillance have been set up in the area. Authorities are also reviewing possible threats to other celebrities and businessmen who could be on the gang’s radar.

Police Statement

Senior officers have described the Ghaziabad encounter as a major breakthrough against organised crime. “No gang will be allowed to spread terror. Our teams are determined to hunt down every last member,” a senior official said. The case, which began as a shocking firing outside a celebrity’s home, has now become a full-scale operation against a powerful criminal syndicate. With two shooters down and two still at large, police remain on high alert to ensure the gang is completely neutralised.
