Getting kids to focus on their studies is every parent’s challenge, full of stress and humor. However, maturity usually brings an understanding of the importance of education. A new social media viral video tells of a young girl who gives an amusing but philosophical reply as to why she doesn’t take her studies seriously.
The 46-second video shared on X opens with a close-up shot of a cute girl sitting in a classroom, being admonished by her teacher for not putting enough effort into studying. “Aap serious nahi ho apni padhai ko leke,” the teacher says. The girl was not expected to give such a detailed response, ranging across the universe. She says, “Iss Prithvi ko baney hue lagbhag 4.5 crore saal ho chuke hain, manushye ka jo jeevan hai, uss jeevan ki uttpatti ko 370 crore saal ho chuke hain. Jiss universe ko lekar hum itne khush hote hain, aise aise pata nahi kitne universe hain, ek universe mein pata nahi kitni galaxies hain pata nahi.”. This world has existed for about 450 crore years, while the human existence dates back to 370 crore years. The universe we are so happy about, there exist similar universes which we are not aware of. We do not know how many galaxies.”
She goes on and on thinking about stars, our sun, the earth, and its 200 plus countries. When she comes to India, she says she is just one among the 1 trillion species in the population of 160 crore. Her answer ends with the question, “How serious should I take myself? What can happen with my existence?”

The video was accompanied by the tweet, “My mind was baffled after hearing this child’s answer.” Many netizens expressed similar astonishment. One user commented, “The girl made the master serious.” Another shared, “Oh my god! It really blew my mind.” A third simply stated, “She is right.” The video has garnered over 802,000 views.
