A 32-year-old German woman was arrested following a knife attack on a bus traveling to a festival in Siegen, western Germany. The assault, which occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Friday, resulted in six injuries, with three individuals in critical condition. The bus, en route to a local festival, carried approximately 40 passengers.

Authorities have indicated that there is no evidence suggesting a political or religious motive behind the attack. The injured, aged between 16 and 30 and all from the local area, received medical treatment, with three discharged after outpatient care by Saturday morning.

The festival is expected to proceed as planned, despite the incident. This attack comes a week after a similar stabbing in Solingen, also in North Rhine-Westphalia, where a suspected Islamic extremist from Syria allegedly killed three people and injured eight others. In response, the government is considering stricter knife regulations and expedited deportation processes.

The arrested woman has been identified as a German citizen with no known immigrant background.
