Gehlot’s last-minute appointments before Model Code of Conduct

Just hours before the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the elections in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made sure to ‘oblige’ his people. It was informed at 8:30 am that there would be a press conference regarding the elections at noon by the Election Commission of India. It was certain that the Model Code of Conduct would be implemented after this press conference.
In this regard, CM Ashok Gehlot appointed members to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and Rajasthan Staff Selection Board. He also made appointments to several boards related to different communities. The significant point is that in all these lists, Gehlot has given priority to most of those members who are associated with the Congress background.
The government has appointed Dr Sajjan Poswal as a member of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board. Similarly, Dr Ripunjaya Singh has been appointed as a member. Meanwhile, three members have been appointed to the RPSC, including Colonel Kesari Singh, Kailash Chand Meena, and Mohammad Ayub. In addition, appointments have also been made to various boards related to different communities.
It should be noted that Dr. Ripunjaya Singh is the son of retired IAS officer Dr. Satyanarayan Singh. A few days ago, Dr. Satyanarayan Singh passed away. He belongs to the Mali community. Before this, CM Gehlot had also appointed Satyanarayan Singh as the Chairman of the Dang Development Board during his previous tenure.
