Among the highly-awaited festivals, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with special fervour in Maharashtra. The festivities begin from 22 August and the 10-day affair will end with Visarjan, Bappa’s immersion

To mark the pious occasion, people welcome their beloved Bappa with utmost excitement and dedication. This year the celebrations will be different from the usual grandeur due to the ongoing pandemic.

TV actor Rithvik Dhanjani has decided to celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly way. Following his practice since the past few years this year too, he is busy sculpting idols from clay. While sharing a sneak peek of the clay idol, he wrote, “on his way”.

Karan Wahi also took to his social media and shared “Unexpected Joy & Happiness. Just when I thought I won’t get to make him …Not for home but at work, eventually got my blessings.”

Two days before Ganesh Chaturthi, actress Shilpa Shetty brought Lord Ganesh home. The actress collected the Ganpati idol in Mumbai with all the precautionary measures. The idol is a replica of Lalbaugcha Raja. Other Bollywood actors such as Vivek Oberoi, Nana Patekar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Hrithik Roshan, Ankita Lokhande, Arjun Bijlani, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, Monika Khanna bring home Ganpati every year.

Salman Khan and sister Arpita Khan Sharma also got Ganpati Idol and the festival is celebrated in a grandeur way by the Khan family. Govinda and his family also celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi lavishly. Neil Nitin Mukesh has also something special planned for this year. The actor-producer will be rejoicing the 27th year in an eco-friendly manner for the very first time at his brand-new home in South Mumbai. Due to Covid-19, Neil and his family will be limiting the 10-day festivity to a private affair.

Actor Karam Rajpal who plays Guddu from Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari, exclaimed, “Ganesh Chaturthi is the most awaited festival for me. This year I plan to celebrate it with my relatives and friends as I am shifting so will be welcoming Ganesha with them. I also plan to eat a lot of delicacies. I wish the almighty takes away all the stressful situations that the world is going through.”

Harveer Singh who was last seen as Pintu Bhabi in Jijaji Chhat Par Hain shared, “I look forward to this festival the whole year. As soon as Bappa comes to our home, happiness and joy spreads and all the negativity vanishes. I wish with the celebration Covid-19 situation improves and everyone can enjoy the blissful festivity.”

With the coronavirus pandemic and Mumbai still struggling to cope up with it, the preparations for Lord Ganesha’s arrival this year have got a Covid-19 filter.
