In a significant development, Ganderbal Police announced on Wednesday the attachment of properties belonging to four absconding militants currently believed to be in Pakistan. This decisive action, carried out in accordance with Government Order no.12/DM/GBL, marks a strategic move by law enforcement to address the legal implications of their exfiltration.
According to information shared with Kashmir Despatch by an official source, the immovable assets of the four absconders, who reportedly fled to Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK), were seized under Case FIR No. 120/2009 2/3 E&IMCO of PS Ganderbal.
On December 5, 2023, Ganderbal Police, in collaboration with revenue authorities, attached the properties of the following absconders:
Lateef Khan, Residence: Gutlibagh, Land Measured: 13 Marlas, Mohammad Hussain Shah, Residence: Wayil Gutlibagh, Land Measured: 03 Kanals, 14 Marlas, Wali-ullah, Residence: Gutlibagh, Land Measured: 13 Kanals.
Similarly, on December 6, the property of another absconder, Farooq Ahmad Wani, was confiscated. He had reportedly illegally exfiltrated to PoK/PAK and is suspected to have engaged in obtaining illegal arms and ammunition training. Residence: Wanipora Saloora Ganderbal ,Land Measured: 01 Kanal 05 Marla under Survey No. 423 Min Building: Situated at Estate Saloora.
It is pertinent to mention that all four absconders are believed to have left the region to acquire illicit arms and ammunition training in PoK/PAK. This action by the Ganderbal Police underscores their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the security and stability of the region.
