Tiger Shroff is known for his excellent dancing skills and martial arts skills. So it is natural that a director would want to showcase these skills to the best. Ganapath, directed by Vikas Bahl, is set in a futuristic world where a nuclear war kills many people. In a world where it becomes the rich vs the poor, it is now upto Ganapath (Tiger Shroff) to save humanity. Then a fight arena is set up and we see a happy-go-lucky Guddu aka Ganapath taking to the kickboxing ring at the Dirty People Club.
Meanwhile, you have a New York-like city called Silver City where the rich live in snazzy skyscrapers and the like. The poor and downtrodden live in another city and are waiting desperately for someone to come to their rescue. It becomes Guddu’s destiny to save the poor and he discovers that soon. Then there is the backstory told by Ganapath’s grandfather, played by Amitabh Bachchan, about how a man will come to save people. So we have a superhero and a super villain battling it out soon.
Director Vikas Bahl has made a film that has hardly had anything by going for it. Add to that the bad VFX to showcase this implausible futuristic vision of the director is quite painful to watch. Tiger Shroff with all his antics, Kriti Sanon with her kohl-lined eyes and a baddie (Bakri) with blue eyes are just not engaging enough to keep you invested. This movie can be given a miss.
