Security was increased in some areas of the national capital on Sunday in preparation for the crucial Day 2 of the G20 Summit.
According to the Delhi Traffic Police alert, “Police Controlled Zone 2 has been implemented and consequently, buses will not operate on Ring Road between ISBT Kashmiri Gate and Sarai Kale Khan. Buses will operate on the remaining stretch of Ring Road and the road network beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi.”
The alert also advised commuters traveling to the airport to take Rao Tula Ram Marg rather than Dhaula Kuan due to traffic restrictions associated with the G20 Summit. Additionally, it stated that the other traffic laws that have been in effect since August 23 will continue to be in effect. Top-notch security provided the backdrop for the first day of the G20 meeting in Delhi, where world leaders gathered under one roof to attend the G20 meeting at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday. This included empty roads and congested mobile networks. The city was declared a no-fly zone, and mobile signals at the event site were jammed to prevent any breaches. The security establishment took no chances to ensure complete security throughout the gathering.
Since 9 p.m. on September 7, the traffic management plan created for the high-profile summit in the Delhi-NCR region has been in effect and will remain so until the conclusion of the massive event. Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), paid a prayer visit to the Akshardham Temple in New Delhi on Sunday morning. Extensive security measures in and around the temple were put in place prior to the visit of the UK Prime Minister.
Today, the most important delegates will go to Rajghat to honor Mahatma Gandhi and plant a tree. There will also be a live performance of devotional songs by Mahatma Gandhi.
