Pawan Bansal, a Congress leader and former Member of Parliament 18 years ago in 2006, visited Shivalik Garden, a project he initiated during his tenure. During the visit, Bansal symbolically opposed the administration’s management by providing bottled drinking water to senior citizens.

Engaging with local residents at Shivalik Garden, Pawan Bansal assessed ongoing issues. He emphasized that in 2006, the garden was not just a mere patch but a beautiful park for the city. However, under the guise of maintenance, there is no provision for restrooms or cleanliness. Notably, the park holds significant importance in the lives of senior citizens in the area. Hundreds of seniors visit the park in the morning and evening; however, due to the lack of proper seating, restrooms, and drinking water facilities, they are now hesitant to come. Women sitting in the park highlighted the presence of roaming dogs and the absence of a flat ground for children to play. Potholes and stagnant water in several places were also reported. The dustbins are not emptied on time.

Pawan Bansal demanded immediate action from the Municipal Corporation to commence the provision of drinking water, bathrooms, and other amenities in the largest and most beautiful park in Manimajra.

Present at the Garden were senior citizens from the area, women, and former Mayor Surinder Singh, Surjit Dhillon, Rameshwar Giri, Shyam Singh, Ranjeet Gautam, Sanjeev Gaba, R.P. Sharma, and R.P. Chaudhary from the locality.
